The number two mobile phones, Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S: a new smartphone, equipped with Super AMOLED technology.

The terminal, running Android will have the Super AMOLED (Active-Matrix Super Organic Light-Emitting Diode) technology, allowing a gain in brightness of about 20%, while reducing glare by 80%.

According to JK Shin, the head of the division of Samsung mobile phone, the Galaxy S should directly compete with Apple's iPhone.

The new mobile terminal to the South Korean firm should be sold by the end of the year.
